Nigerian Sex Trafficker Jailed in the UK

Osezua Osolase, 42, who used witchcraft rituals to silence poverty-stricken Nigerian orphans and tricked them into traveling to the UK with a promise of a better life, but in turn treated them as commodities to be sold as prostitutes has been jailed for 20 years.

At Canterbury crown court on Friday Mr Osolase was found guilty of five counts of trafficking for sexual exploitation, and one each of rape and sexual activity with a child.

Sentencing him, the judge said Osolase treated the girls as objects to be sold as sex slaves. The fact that he raped one girl knowing he had HIV was a "seriously aggravating" feature.

Scary or Not?

I personally don't like Halloween. Last Friday night I saw some teenagers on London underground train (Piccadilly Line) in their horrifying Halloween costumes that I couldn't look them a second time. It was scary that I had to get off before my actual stop and connected my destination with Hammersmith & City Line.

Again on Saturday evening at Stratford Westfield, I nearly did a marathon as I pumped into this thing I thought it was a 'Beast' standing by the corner, then I realized it was a young man in a Beast-alike Halloween costume. Just within 2 minutes he attracted over a hundred people and was taking pictures with them.

Anyway, I enjoyed watching at some point, though I did not take pictures with him myself.

If you had seen this on the street or somewhere, would you have tried running like me or not? Lol

It Begins with a Baby Step

Success doesn't begin until you commence the walk down the pathway towards your goals. And, your walk always begins first with a baby step. Why do we call them baby steps? Are they really anything more than our next step down life's pathway?

Baby steps are the first steps we take as an act of faith. We see others stepping out and we claim our ability to walk by following them. As we grow, we continue our development by taking additional baby steps. Sometimes we fall; sometimes we fail. Thereafter, all steps become an act of faith; we just become more practiced. If you say to yourself, "I don't want to make a fool of myself" or "I'd better be good at this," you'll probably never take the baby steps towards your goals and end up wallowing in your own self-pity.

Spanish Developer Spends £60m to Acquire London's Admiralty Arch, to turn it into a Luxury Hotel

After serving as an office block for nearly a decade, London's Admiralty Arch is set to be turned into a luxury hotel and restaurant with views over Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace.

The majestic gatehouse that was built as a memorial to Queen Victoria, was bought by Spanish developer Rafael Serrano for £60 million.

Nights in the historic landmark, won't come cheaply though; the new owner is also the man behind the Bulgari Hotel in Knightsbridge, where rooms cost from £850 a night. Wow, that's equivalent to N210,922.
Mr Serrano hope to attract over 50,000 guests a year to the hotel and more than 50,000 visitors for the views.

Draft Resolution on Female Genital Cutting sent to United Nations

LONDON (TrustLaw) – African member states of the United Nations last week submitted a draft resolution on ending female genital mutilation (FGM) to the U.N. General Assembly, in what campaigners have hailed as a landmark step to end a practice that has been inflicted on up to 140 million women and girls.

FGM, which is widespread in parts of Africa and pockets of the Middle East and Asia, involves the partial or total removal of the external genitals, and in many cases the closing of the vaginal opening.

It is usually arranged by the women of the family and performed by traditional cutters who use anything from scissors to razor blades, broken glass and tin can lids.

The procedure, generally carried out without any kind of anaesthetic or pain relief, can cause lasting physical and emotional damage. In some cases it is fatal.

Welcome on Board Life's Merry-Go-Round

Welcome! Welcome to the fair! I can see, you’re already sitting on the merry-go-round! It’s great how you are driving! You have a sleek car, with an accelerator and a brake. But most of all, you have a steering wheel, which you can spin around, and that’s just what you are doing; though strangely, as much as you steer it, or put your foot down on the throttle, or jam on the brakes, the car keeps traveling in the same direction.

This is how your ‘I’ (the so-called ‘ego’) works. It steers to the left, it steers to the right, and is never fully content with the result. It thinks, “I’ll take a look at the others. How are they driving? How is that guy doing over there? That one is definitely shifting his weight more in the curve. I think I’ll try that too.” But nothing changes. The car keeps on going round and round.

Every now and then the merry-go-round stops. Short break. The Tibetans call this ‘bardo’. Then you look for another vehicle. “Let’s try the horse. I’ll ride for a while. Maybe that’s my destiny!” Very smart on your part! Or perhaps to be truly wise, you take the small scooter because all this driving has tired you out and left you full of humility.
