The Day Evil Visited Connecticut, R.I.P School Shooting Victims

I was on the M25 motorway at about 6:30pm yesterday coming into London when I saw the news update on the shooting of Sandy Hook Elementary school children in Newtown Connecticut. The death tool kept rising as I followed the news until finally it was confirmed that a gunman who was identified as 20-year-old Adam Lanza fired more than a hundred rounds killing 27 people, among them were 20 children, principal, psychologist, and four other adults, before finally killing himself. Adam was believed to have shot his mother Nancy Lanza who was a teacher in the school, earlier on in his house in New Jersey before driving to the school.

The children were said to be between the ages of 5 to 10-year-olds. It was horrific and 'evil' indeed visited the State of Connecticut rightly said by Governor Dannel Malloy yesterday. This is regarded as the most tragic shooting involving children in the history of America.
As I watched President Obama wipe tears during his news briefing, I was heartbroken. What a Christmas it will be for the victims family, and the traumatic effect this will have on the survivals.

Adam's brother named as 24-year-old Ryan Lanza was taken by police to be questioned, and I could imagine what was going through his mind at that particular time. Not only did he lost two of his family members but having his family name linked to such tragedy must be hard for him.

President Obama ordered yesterday that flags flown at half mast in memory of the victims. People gathered at St Rose Church in Newtown where vigil was held, joined by millions of mourners in America and across the globe. My prayers goes out to the family of the victims and the remaining survivals. It could have been any body's child.
Rest in peace Connecticut school shooting victims. Amen....
